Any first hand experience with these tires? How do they perform??? I am only interested in the KD tires. I need to keep stock sized tires since I am keeping the magnesium wheels.
I hope you're posting this due to my for sale post!
They are the best & highest rated dry traction tire...
100% King of the Hill or King of the Dry as Tire rack calls them..
Excellent traction, cornering, steering response etc...
The BEST tire for a car that only sees the roads in fair weather!
Excellent for road race course or autocross...
They heat up fast & can be used for drag racing on occasion too!
If you haven't seen my ad, I have a brand new stock size set, w/ the stickers still on them, for $700, $200 lesss than TR...
Let me know..
The KD stands for "killer dry" in house at BFG. I had them on my Trans Am and they were great. Currently one of the rears is on 6 week backorder if you're ordering Z06 sizes (295's) and they don't make the front size (265's). Another nice thing about these tires is they ran wider than the same size in the Goodyear F1's on the TA. Car and Driver recently tested high performance tires and these came out at or near the top in all dry tests. They didn't score that well overall because they don't handle that well in the rain.

I just looked at this post. This is one he!! of a deal on some great tires. If I were you, I would jump on it. I understand that these tires are always out of stock. They go as fast as BFG can make them.
I have BFG KD's on my '03 that has oem z06 wheels, and I'm running 275/40R17 up front and 295/35R18 in the rear. They don't make 265/40R17 which is the stock z06 front size, but the 275 fits fine, no rubbing or anything.
Spectacular tires. I love them. Best tires I've had on my vette. For my next car, I already checked to see if I can get BFG KD's in its size. Other tires I've had on my C5's are the OEM GY runflats, GY F1 supercar, and BFG KDW2, and BFG drag radials on the rear. The KD's are great, but you have to be a little careful in the rain.

YEAH, the KDs in stock 295s (Z06) rear sizes have been back ordered for months now and that is the tire i wanted to run on my Z but got stuck going another route b/c BFG doesn't stock (back ordered) one of the rear 295 tires and NO TIRE SHOP in the Country can get them!! That is a bunch of and I don't know why they can't keep up with basic demand and i would imagine this has to be costing them hundreds of thousands in business.
I too was only interested in the KD tire as a replacement for the runflats on my stock mag wheels. Luckily they were on backorder, because a week after I went to buy them, I found a great deal on a set of Z06 wheels with Pirellis. However, when it comes time to replace the Pirellis, I will be getting the 275/295 combo of KD tires.
I can't count how many tire places tried to sell me the KDWS as a suitable 2nd choice
I have over 15,000 mi on mine. That is with a three 3,000 mile trips and a bunch of autocrossing. Still have pretty decent life left too. I am religous about air pressure and try not to do burnouts except when I'm autocrossing.
