I know that mid 01+ C5s all used the LS6 block for LS1s, but what exactly is the difference between the two blocks. Is one stronger? What did they change when the designed the LS6 Block
The only change to the block was the addition of cast in bulkhead windows vs machined windows to release crankcase pressure between cylinder bays freeing up some hp at high revs.
The breathing problem was discovered during the development of the LS1 but it was too late to change the molds, so 28.5 mm vent holes were machined in the windows for the LS1.
