Hi - Rebuilding a LS1 - 2000 Corvette and I a having trouble with the oil pump. On the bottom, there are two bolt holes. One holds the oil pick up flange and I have no idea what the other is for! Looks like a 10mm, but can't figure out what it's for? Don't want to go any further without finding out. Went to Mitchell/alldata and the manual and the diagrams don't help me. Can you?
In one book I read "how to build high perform Chevy ls1", it says that when I remove the tube I also had to take out a 6 mm bolt with a 10 mm hex head. There is a threaded hole but I don't remember ever taking it out or find any bolt in my work area. In the attached picture from the net, I don't see one opposite the pickup tube bolt, but you can see the place for a bolt just under the lowest oil pump bolt next to the chain - honest - it's threaded. http://www.ls1howto.com/howto/c5/hea...cs/oilpump.jpg
