Hi: Stage 1 installed my Cartek Clutch Package today. What would be considered a minimum safe break in time before going to the track?
Biggest single change I've noticed so far is no more clutch "whiplash" due to the wussy springs they use on the stock disk and of course no more burnt clutch smell!!! Yipee!!!! Pedal feels different but not any more difficult than stock given the new 3K lb pressure plate. Thanks for any comments :D :D :D
Cartek posts on the forum under tekhombre You may want to send him an IM and he can answer you question directly. Also check their web site it may have the info you need there http://www.cartek.com
I dont think Cartek even recommends a break-in period. I guess ceramic clutches arent as necessary to break in as other materials.
I would definitely want to break in the new hydraulics for a few hundred miles first. Do lots of stop and go driving so that you are engaging and disengaging the clutch quite a bit.
I took it kinda easy with launches on mine for about 300-400 miles and it works great but Im sure you could hit the track after a few hundred miles and be fine.
Matt: Thanks, thats just about what I was thinking that I would do: just take it easy ;) for a hundred or so miles. Tks for the response. Like the package better than stock already! :D :D :D
