Default Tire pressure sensor problem

I recently had an alignment done at a shop here in Vegas. Ever since, my DIC has displayed a "high tire pressure" fault on the 2 front tires. Did they disconnect something? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the tire pressure with a tire guage? Maybe the shop put some air in your tires and put too much in.

If they put in 35 pounds or more, it would register as " high pressure ". I'l bet that's what happened. Be sure that you use a reliable pressure gauge. Good Luck !

Some tire shops hire the scourges of the earth to replace tires... Some hire excellent mechanical minds.... but unfortunately most tire changers are not the cream of the mechanical crop... usually only because it is an entry level job in most cases..
I have seen with my own eyes, tire changes use the max tire pressure recommended on the side of the tire as their reference for tire pressure...
A C5 weight is 3200 and change for the coupe and the Vert, the Z is about 100 pounds less.
tires are designed to hold a max weight
in the case of most C5 tires, they are capable of carrying a load almost twice the weight of a C5.
tire pressure is determined by the car weight and not the tire.. the specs on the side of the tire do not say anything about a C5////
they only say how much weight the tires can carry and at what max pressure . both specs are maximum.
multiply the load max by 4 and you have the weight four tires can carry at that max weight.
having less than a max load requires less max pressure to allow the footprint of the tire to lay perfectly on the road surface at that specific weight.
All C5's should operate around 30/31 psi hot... a Z could operate @ 29/30 psi hot. The door sticker says 30 cold..... its generic
Many people here find it difficult to digest this information..

The door sticker is a product liability issue because some people will use the max tire pressure on the side of the tire to inflater their tires..
This is just a recommendation that will keep you out of trouble.

Amen to that!
I had 4 tires mounted at a shop reccommended by an on line tire store (won't mention the name because they really had nothing to do with it).
Anyway when I got home I found 50lbs in all 4 tires and the balance sucked!
They were a BMW repair shop next to my work, guess they didn't like putting tires on my GTP.

Step one in an alignment is to check tire pressure and pump them all up to the correct pressure. Sounds like they did that except use the wrong pressure.
