Anyone have a suggestion as to what catback i can run besides these borlas? Between 1600 and 1800 rpm the droneing is so piercing i need ear muffs.. anyone know of a nice sounding cat back that does not have that noise on the inside of the car?
I agree....
You can porbably pos tin the parts for sale section for a swap someone with a stck Z06 will probably be willing to trade you even and pay for the swap outs... since your Borlas as worth more than the stock titianium system in the Z06

Noise and resonance are two differant things it sounds like you dont care for either! You might look (right here!) for a ZO6 stock set up as those guys often went with the peformance route and ther still a real step up over stock C-5!
Stock Z06 Ti exhaust. After running Borlas and B&B Bullets on my H/C car - the resonance was too much for my ears. The Ti's work perfect. Check the Z06vette forum too for guys selling their stock exhausts.
Best thing you can do is find someone who has them and listen. Good luck and Happy VETTING!!!!P.S. I have Corsa Indy's Daytona tips from West Coast Corvette and I love em! But to each there own...
You probably want the Z06 cat back. I would suggest keeping the Borlas. I loved the sound of mine. Once you get used to them you will just want it to be louder anyway.
I had Stingers and am planning to go to Long Tube Headers, so I got the Ti's. I liked the sound of the Stingers, but figured it would to much with headers.
I love my Borlas. Do they drone, yes they do. I think all aftermarkets have a certain amount of drone. It is the nature of the beast. I would think titaniums would be your bet if you think the Borlas are bad. And before the Corsa, BB, and others post, come clean. YES THEY ALL DRONE!
I have LT headers and an X-pipe. Switched from Corsa Indys to Borla Stinger a while back for a change. The Borlas are louder and more obnoxious, I still haven't got used to them. I'm giving it some more time before going back to the Corsas (which I like a lot.)
Corsa's are guaranteed not to have drone, I have yet to hear of anyone with either Corsa system to say they have drone in five years... hundreds of people here has complained about Borla drone.. so you are not alone.. funny thing is other s dont and deny Borla's have drone... funny how selective memory works.....
The Corsa touring system is slightly louder than stock, but sounds better than stock at WOT and of course theres is no drone at cruise.
The Indy system is more aggressive than the touring system, but has a better sound at idle and wot... no drone at cruise.
Problem with the touring system is when you go from a stock system to the touring there is very little difference.
The only way you get use to the Borla drone is because your hearing has been desensitized to this frequency... Many people use the excuse, Oh you get use to it....
GM chose Corsa as their brand of choice... when you by Corsa exhaust the box even has the genuine GM logo on it. They also have the nicest tips on the market.
I have Corsa Indies, Ive had them for five years.... I could sell them tomorrow and buy anything else I wanted, but for me they are perfect...Sound good all the time...Can carry on a converstion at any speed and hear the radio.

As I have said before, you have to be careful when describing drone. Do you have a 6 speed? I ask because automatic cars (4 speed) run at different RPM's at cruising speed and don't seem to suffer as much from this. Anyway I had the stingers on my 6 speed and took them off because of the drone at cruising speed (70 -80 mph). I no longer travel on the hwy so I wish I had them back for cruising arroung town where they sounded really nice. I replaced the stingers with Magnaflows and they are the best looking system, in my opinion, but to quiet arround town with just a little reaonance (drone) at hwy speed. It is not anoying like the stingers were. They do sound really nice at full throttle though.

Drone is a harmonic frequesncy response which comes from the engine.. transmissions do not enter into it at all.. Borla's have significant drone when the engine is producing 1500 to 1900 rpm no matter what the transmission and no matter what the rear... the engine produces the same exhaust pulses no matter what gear or transmission. The speed may vary slightly but the engine doesn't change its pulses. So much bad information here by people who have no clue ... the exhaust system is hooked up the to engine not the transmission or rear/// the engine produces exhaust pulses from 1 rpm to 6000 rpm.. whether there is a transmission hooked up to it or not.... Borla exhaust systems respond very unfavorably to the engine output between 1500 and 1900 rpm. People who deal with IT managment should know the term garbage in ... garbage out... and should leave automotive technology to people who know something about it...
Who wants to be prohibited from driving at 50 miles an hour, 60 miles an hour or 70 mph, or 80 mph...
If you are forced to adjust your speed because your wife is bitching about the drone... what difference does it make, what speed it occurs... it's there.

I've got B&B RT 66 and they do not sound loud at all in the car - as a matter of fact I thought they were pretty quiet until my wife peeled out if our driveway the other day. Apparantly, they're alot louder outside than inside. Havn't had any drone problems.
