Default Clutch got problems...I got questions

Went to the track at Ennis today, made 1 disastrous run.

Halfway down the track going to 3rd gear, the clutch pedal will not return. When I pulled off at the end, only about 2 inches of pedal was available and I couldn't get into any gear. Finally got into 2nd and got back to the pit where my son-in-law pulled the pedal up with his hand. We took a little drive and everything seemed ok. I did not race anymore but when we started home, I got some grinding going into 5th gear.

Could it be that the slave cylinder is going south? I really feel that the cluth was not totally engaging which was causing the 5th gear problem. No problem with any other gear and had to stop several times getting out of town.

Some of you guy's are very sharp about this and I'd love to hear what this sounds like to you.

Thanks in advance.

Robert

tons of posts in C5 Tech about this issue. Lots of theorries on the what and why...."most" people experience this at the track or after some hard driving. although I know of some who get it during normal driving as well..in almost all if not all..the cars have LT headers and there has been discussion about the added heat causing the clutch fluid to break down.....the other theories have been a bad slave cylinder and clutch issues. Take your pick. The quick fix has been to remove the spring on the clutch pedal under the dash...some people swear by it other says its a temp fix..

Been running LT's on my car for 4 years never an issue.

I am sure some people will chime in with more answers etc. I don't think anyone has a true fix for this issue yet. Although I am sure someone will say they do.
