I have a 99 convertible with the memory package. intermittently when i pull the key, the driver seat will only move about an 1/8 of an inch and then stop. if you keep removing the key, a few times, it will eventually operate normally. sometimes while hitting the memory switch to bring the seat back to position it hangs up and i have to hit the memory switch 1 or 2 times to get it into position. the only postion i have memory and easy exit issues with is the fore/aft feature. i think that i have a bad potentiometer on the fore/aft seat slide but this is my first time experiencing this problem...
has anyone ever experienced this before??? and what did you do to fix it?
btw, i am new to the site and i am amazed at the amount of info you all have!
There is a code for Seat Control Module (SCM) problems. Check the DIC for codes.
Every now and then my seat does not adjust automatically when I insert the key and I have to push the button to get the seat to adjust.
Then it throws a code.
Dude I have the same problem, posted a couple years ago, and see posts like this every 1/2 year. It is either a bad SCM, bad harness, or bad memory motors. About $800 from GM.
I set the steering wheel and unplugged the memory plug - I hated the car moving the seat every time I unlocked it. No issues since.
