Default help ! selecting tires...

hey guys, need some help, advise .02's

i'm looking to buy a new set of tires for the new wheels for my c5 coupe. i've spoken with tire pros at the stores and now i would like to hear from those who actually have experience with the tires.

i was recommended the following in the order you see.

1. goodyear f1
2. bfg t/a kdw
3. kuhmos ecsta mx
4. sumitomos htrz 2

aside from the goodyear and michelons i'm leaning towards i'm leaning towards the others due to budget. is anybody currently running the t/a's, kuhmos, or sumitomos. and what do you think of the tires. i'm looking to purchase before the weekend.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

danko

One tire not on your list is the Nitto 555 Extreme and these are a very good all around tire. I have them on the front and the more sticky NT-01's on the back for extra traction. Ask others about the 555 Extremes that run them all the way around

Once again I agree with steven
Go with the Nitto NT-O1 if you can, I will order mine soon.

Do you need an all season tire? If so, and price is a matter, I'd go with the Kuhmo on your list.

Buy the Sumitomo if you like crappy traction and horrible tire wear, and enjoy buying cheap tires every 3-4 months.

Go with the Goodyear GSD3
(its one of a few different types of F1s, simply telling the tire dealer that you want "Eagle F1s" could get you one of 3-4 different types of tire)

I have nothing but good to say about them, but since I don't drive fast in heavy rain, I'm going with the BF Goodrich KD (not KDW or KDWS) when my current pirellis are done for.

i have gone with the eagle f1 supercar tire not gs3

second set but i went with 295 in the rear and 275 up front on stock rims. Great traction with the larger size got me to a 12.9 1/4 with only a cold air intake and and corsa exhaust on an a4

If you are on a budget a decide to go to the ZO6 tires, which will fit on stock c5 rimms too (295 35 18) and 265 up front... Check out the Firestone wide ovals at tirerack.com 189.00 for the rears and 139.00 for the fronts. here is the link. scroll down to the bottom of the page http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...m=1&pagemark=1
