basic question
what is the difference between long tube headers and shorty's? Do the shorty's flange up to my normal exhaust sytem just behind the engine where as the LT's go all the way back tothe cat back system?

I am not the expert in this but there was a thread awhile back that talked about this. Had to do with the low end torque being different with long vs. short. I am sure the experts will chime in soon.

there is very little or no gain with shorties, the stock exhaust manifolds are as good as the shorties.. they look like headers from the engine bay.. other than that they are useless... LT can give you 30 hp gain, usually use randome cat mid pipe which bolts up to the cat back exhaust system.

I dont think there is any REAL benefit with shortys.
I mean, I dont hear of people with cam, heads, and shorty headers
But thats just my opinion,
