Which Mass Air Flow Sensor is best?
MTI did not do any tuning after installing the TB & MAFS.
For what it's worth I checked the numbers in the article last night:
Callaway TB
+ 5.0 rwhp
+ 8.9 rwt
MTI MAFS
+ 4.9 rwhp
+ 6.2 rwt
I have installed both of these components this winter on my 430 rwhp FRC (see sig for mods). I am using a new stock air bridge & IAT, tapered air duct. and a Pro Flow+ cold air intake (Vette Doctors product). Started and ran fine W/O a tune. There definetly is an SOTP increase in mid range torque but I haven't dynoed since the install. I agree, you won't see gains this high on a stock top end.
I plan to dyno the car later this month and if anyone is interested I will post the results.
Now for the bad news, stock MAF tables max out at something like 512 grams/sec. FI guys can do this pretty easily. When this happens the choices generally are use Speed Density mode, or get a custome 2/3 Bar OS that supports larger numbers.
