i know that there will be some leakage on verts but the drivers side is twice as bad as the passenger side. i hate the dealer in my area, is there anything i can do myself to help this problem.any advice will be great, before i go the s.o.b. itchin dealership. thanks
c5magred2,
Had the same problem on the upper rear corner of my 99 vert. Just took some dark grey weather stripping and inserted it between the rubber seal and the frame (top to bottom). Fixed my wind leak 100%.
Even if you get the window adjusted properly you should replace the rubber gasket. The rubber has a memory and must be replaced. Mine was done last month for the same reason as yours, air & water leaks.
I don't have that problem...of course, I never put my top up. Just kidding. The advise so far seems correct. Hope all goes well. Don't worry, with as much fun as we have driving these things, do you really care anyway?
The window tip in adjusment is easy, but on my 2001 Vert, it did not fix the problem. You have two adjustments, and there are other threads that address it.
I am going to try the weatherstrip insert, just happen to have some left from my 71 454 restoration. If it works, great, if not, I still will avoid the dealership.
They SUPPOSEDLY  adjusted the top, it was not letting down easy, always struck the waterfall piece, and were supposed to fix the leak to. Typically Chevrolet dealership, watch them change your oil and stay away from anything else they do. :mad
I had the same problem with my 99 ragtop and took care of the issue myself in about 10 minutes... Possibly someone would be nice enough here and scan the directions with diagrams for you to see how to do it yourself... Real easy to fix...
