Man, you gotta put that crack pipe down! (and read more of this forum.)
And Man, you gotta come up with a new "line".....
I see you've used it a few times already.... (I do read)
Yeah, I live in Extreme Northern NJ (that's read "cow country") and while there are a few tuners around, I didn't ask where I could get it done, I asked for any tuners that another poster would recommend going to..... Big difference between the two.
But then again, what can you expect from a (probable) Eagles fan???
where are you exactly? i'm in the north, but probably further to the east then you if you say you are in "cow country".i'm going to assume you are in sussex.
i'm in essex, but i went down to ECS to get my car tuned.there's ttp in clifton, but haven't really heard much about them.there's cartek in garwood[union county].
if you ask me,it's worth the ride down to ECS.

Yes, I'm in Sussex county....
Originally from the Bronx, NYC and "up here", they're mostly working on 4x4's & tractors... LOL
ECS is the one, huh? Cool.... What town and what did they charge???

From my research a good computer tune will be in the $350-$550 range. Usually, people don't spend this kind of money on a tune until they've done some mods that will help the car benefit.
You may pick up a few HP now, but I would personally wait until you do headers or more.

Ok, you got me on that one. Actually, I'm just jealous that you
live right in the middle of at least three of the best C5 tuners in the country.
Chris and the gang at ECS are top-notch. They did me and my Z right. Tune usually goes $4-500. I agree that you should have some significant mods completed to truly benefit from a tune.
Hold on, I don't if this is BS or not but I've heard of guys picking up 15-30 rwh on a totaly stock motor with a good tune, Now if thats true that would make it one of the most easy and inexpensive mods per HP for the $$$. Now where is that crack pipe.

Thanks for all the info.....
Being that I just bought the car and that I'm new to this all, please pardon my ignorance.....
I can understand the need to retune after mods, but I can't believe that they really optimize the engine and (in my case) all the shift points in my A4 at the factory, for the best performance.
Maybe I'm confused.... Do I need a dyno tune, or just a good programming? (Don't they do both during the tune?)
If you plan on getting mods in the future such as headers, intake, cam, heads, etc, then it is better to wait to get a dyno tune until after you install your mods. If you don't plan on any mods then go for it, the A4 benefits more from a tune then the 6 speed.
