octane level
this is off topic but if I put a superchargeron my '01 Silverado, will I have to bump up the gas from regular to premium? Not an issue the the vette as it is already on premium.
Yes you should run the highest pump gas octane available. Also try to find someone to tune the PCM to run a ~11.5 Air Fuel ratio, and pull about 1* of timing per pound of boost. I'd also recommend running a slightly colder set of spark plugs.
You might find that your stock fuel system is no longer able to keep up with the supercharger (injectors running at 100% duty cycle, or fuel pressure dropping at higher RPM) - keep an eye on this.
If tuned properly all of this should keep your stock motor 'relatively' safe at or below 8lbs of boost.
