Default Off-Track Excursion = HELP needed

Ok, so I did the new 3.1 mile Motorsports Ranch (cresson) course and had a little off-course excursion between turn 8 and 9. It was a sideways drive into the dirt. I surveyed the damage and no leaks or anything hanging down, still drove fine. I did see that I damaged my rocker panel with a giant rock that I couldn't avoid.

Here is where I need everyone's help. I put my street tires back on and started driving home. I found that when I go above 65 miles an hour (to keep up with traffic only, of course) I getting a loud thump, thump, thump. When I slow to below 65, the noise is either not loud enough or not there.

It does not appear to be affecting the steering, so it does not appear to be alignment based. I cannot tell if the noise is coming from the front or rear.

I did drive the next day with the race tires on, but I doubt I could hear it above the exhaust.

I suspect that it might be either my bearings or my differential, but I did not see any visible damage. I jacked it up and none of the wheels feel loose, etc.

So my questions are:
1. Any other ideas?
2. How can I isolate what the most likely problem is?
3. Where can I get a reasonable cost hub assembly?

Any help would be appreciated. Other comments, not so much.

(I do have new rotors and pads already if I need them and will probably do that first just to be safe.)

Thanks.

I had a friend out there instructing that class last weekend. Aside from the "off", how was it?

My bearings gave me more of a chanook "thrummmmmm" sound when they started going out and it increased in sound and frequency as I increased speed. It was audible at 30 MPH and 70 MPH.

First step is isolating which end of the car it is.

Definitely a LOT of fun. I may be too old to change my old idiosyncrazies to really get dangerous, but this was my first time out. The 3.1 mile track is definitely challenging, and www.thedriversedge.net guys did a great job keeping some sanity. (Only about 10 "incidents", but nobody hurt.)

I now have to think about the next event in July....

I agree that I think that it most likely is my hub assembly. (Crossed fingers.)

I am 99% sure that you have a cracked rotor(s). Check all your rotors and see if thats the problem. Keep us posted
