here is my car:
2000 c5 corvette with z51 and 3.15 gears
Vararam intake
borla straight pipes
LG Pro Street Series Headers w/o cats
I have a Yank 3200 ss stall and set of 3.42 gears sitting in my garage. My question is that for my setup is it worth putting the 3.42 gears or would my mods be more suitable for the 3.15's. Fyi the car ran 12.6's at 109.5 with all mods except the headers on street tires. Thanx in advance for you advice!
Since you have to take the rear apart to install your SS3200. Definately install your 3.42 gears, your car will perform a bit better and your SS3200 will feel even more like stock than it will with 3.15 gears.
i have basic suspension. not Z-51. do i have a 3.15 also?
If your car is an 02, look at the build codes on the door of your glove box. If you see G92 you have 3.15s. If you don't see it you have 2.73s. Or you can put your car in 3rd and drive at a steady 75 MPH. If your RPM is 3150 you have 3.15s, if your RPM is 2730 RPM you have 2.73s.
