Default Power steering column moves on its own

Just got my 2001 mag red coupe out of the local Chevy body shop. (Replaced the rear clip and stuff underneath after some jerk SUV or 4x4 backed into me and punched some holes in the clip.) Now a new set of problems has popped up. The memory mode on the driver's seat works and then doesn't. While I'm driving along, the steering wheel extends to the full out position on its own and the power control on the steering column is dead. This is most disconcerting when I'm making a turn. After a few seconds, the power control switch operates normally. The steering column lock recall reprogramming was accomplished over a year ago and I doubt there is any connection. Battery voltage checks good and there are no DIC error codes. Anybody got any ideas?

I had this exact same problem, they did not reprogram your BCM correctly. I would take it back, and they have to enter every single RPO code from the glove box into the BCM so it knows what options the car has. Its pretty damn scary when the wheel comes back at you while your driving.

Default Back to the dealer

No codes are showing up on the DIC. I paid more attention to the problem while I drove it to work today and noted that the wheel fully extends each time I activate a turn signal or step on the brake. After the extension, most times, I can hit the control button and the wheel will retract to where ever I want it. It still extends by itself at random intervals. My appointment is Monday.
