Default Help needed! Check engine light greeted me today.

I was greeted today by the check engine light. I checked the codes and the one that stood out was PO803 H C. This is the diagnostic for the Skip Shift Solenoid Circuit. I cleared the code and the check engine light went off. I have had a CAGS in for almost 2 years without a problem.Has anyone experienced this. Is it likely that the CAGS unit has gone bad? I have tried repeatedly to reset the computer and remove the code but as soon as I activate the 1to4 light I generate a code. I do not get the check engine light anymore. Advice will be appreciated. Thanks. The only recent work on my car was the recall work done by the dealer on the column lock.

sandyg,

Why not cycle the connector back there at the CAGS mod? Might be that a poor contact is giving an "open" and causing the code to set.

Hope that works.
Good luck.

Disconnect the CAGS connection and reconnect. It will hopefully clean the terminals and improve the
situation.
