We now have a surging or hunting at low or no throttle setting (coast down type situation or cruise control downhill). There is a noticable repeated surging until the throttle opening increases.
We have the Ram Air with K&N filter (new), ported MAF and Throttle Body (year or more). AFPR is 60# peak and 57-58# normal. Have checked for air leaks and not found anything yet, but believe the issue is a "lean" surge type problem that indicates an air leak.
Re: Surging at low or no throttle opening (jimhild)
You say that you have a (new) K&N...We have seen on a number of occassions were the filter oil will build up in the MAF sensor and cause a driveability concern...
Re: Surging at low or no throttle opening (MelloYellow)
Thanks for the suggestions!
We have done the idle relearn three times, just like the book states, and have cleaned the MAF wires with electronic cleaner. Also installed the original MAF and tried it, no change that we could tell.
Hopefully someone will have a suggestion(s) that will fix this one. It is a pain in the rear!
