Burning clutch???
Hey yall, let my buddy drive my car today, and I really regret it now. He tried taking off in first gear, the rev's went up to 5000-5500 and the car was going nowhere. I am pretty sure it was that the clutch did not engage fully. This has happened once or twice before, but this time i was really scared because i smelled burning! The car is fine, drives fine, but I'm really worried. If he burned the clutch, has detrimental damage been done? I plan on replcing the clutch anyways in a few months, just hoping that this isnt a sign of damage being done to other vital parts of the transmission... thanks for helping
