I took my Y2K C5 for a nice drive last week. The car ran great up to a friends house, put some ZO6 ducts on a car and left.
Before we left, I had the a/f slightly adjusted so the RPMs didnt drop at an Idle. I start the car and it runs great. I think the second time I got on the car, the low oil level code came on, and I reset it. I had checked the oil the night before and it was full. A couple minutes later the code came back up and I pulled off the road to check the oil. I shut the car and checked level, and it was still full. Pressure was always 40-55 PSI
battery gauge showed between 13-14 volts. When I checked my battery and oil the night before and the battery volts 12.9 or 12.03.
On the drive home, The low oil lever hit 15-20 times. when I got home, and let the car cool, I checked the oil again, and it was full
I had the same problem. I simply sped up and slammed on the breaks a couple of times and it freed up the sensor to work. It seems that on rare occasions the oil level sensor gets stuck.

Either that, or the car was parked on an incline. It's happened to me while parked on my friend driveway. It's like 15* incline.
The code kept coming on while I was driving the car. I was driving for about an hour and the code it while driving 15-20 times. I was not sitting unlevel.
I had a 2000 Coupe and I had the same problem........
The oil level was full and the message kept comign on. I was told your engine has to go through x amount of cycles and the sensor will reset. If it doesn't then the sensor is bad. Keep your eye and mind on the dip stick level and knwo that is what is right and the sensor is either resettign tiself or it has gone bad. I know what you are going through....my car had 2,000 miles on it and I was wondering how can this be? Found out they had the car sitting at an angle at the dealership when it was in for warranty work. After awhile the message never came back. Seems to be inherent to 2000 models..........
I would have freaked if it coded and I had not know it was full last night, and full when I got home. When I shut the car off, and just turned to key to on, the low oil level code was still there

give it a few cycles and then see.........it's not miles.......it's engine cycles from what I was told..........sort of like a check engine light.
I too get that message the other day. It came up a couple times and I reset it.
Checked the oil level later that day after it had set a while and it was above the fill line. The warning message has not come back since.
