Default Anyone using the new Amsoil EAO32 oil filter?

Supposed to be long lasting and have excellent oil flow characteristics. Any comment on oil pressure? Does it hang below the oil pan? Other comments?

SubDriver should be able to assist here. I have one but haven't put it on yet so I can't comment on the oil pressure or end relative to oil pan.

How bout' it Subdriver....

Default I just installed one

I just changed my oil with Amsoil and used that filter. It's the same size as the AC/GM filter. Doesn't hang below the pan. Holds the same oil psi. I haven't driven the car much since the oil change, but see no reason for any problems.

I just ordered one and noticed that the filter body is smooth, with no "flutes" for a cap wrench like the SDF32 had...so how do you get this filter on and off?

I noticed this oil filter wrench listed on the amsoil site.

https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/detail.aspx?ID=8763

My old filter came off easy enough by just turning it with my hand. I'm sure if you pre lube the rubber seal and only hand tighten, then you should not need a wrench.

Default amsoil filter

I'm running that filter and once hot the car idles at 600 RPM with 50 lbs.

What was your oil pressure before the filter change?
David.

As mentioned above, it is the same size as stock so it won't hang below the pan, and based on my customers reports, such as those mentioned above, I haven't had anyone report a noticeable difference in oil pressure. I bought several and have an AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter on my wife's Chevy (takes the same EAO32 as does the Vette) and on my F350 with the 6.0 Turbo Diesel. But, I don't have one on my Z06 as I don't know if the EAO Filter is the most suitable for racing since I change the oil at what equates to about every 500 miles. I still have a stock of SDF32s and one K&N 1007 on my garage shelf for the vette and I'll use those up before making a final decision on what to use next.
