hey there - need help getting to the back of my d.i.c. to make sure it is plugged in correctly. I don't want to take off to much of what i don't need to - i have 98c5.thanks
well - got the dash off and sure as **** it was plugged in so back to the drawing board - any other suggestions might help. guess it's time to go to the dealership - ouch!
What's wrong??? You haven't told us what is the matter! Maybe you should get a new cluster from forum member PACETHIS or Fred Beans or eBay... At least contact PACETHIS, he seems to have experience in such matters. BTW GM intended the cluster to be a throw away part, not repairable... Is there a digital speedo shop near where you live? You know the stealership is usually thee most expensive place to go!
If everything else is working,
I would either get a new cluster from Fredbeansgmparts.com
or more likely a used cluster or just the DIC from ebay or GenesKarShop.com or forum member PACETHIS. In fact, a while back there was just a DIC on ebay.
Contact Corvette Forum member PACETHIS, I'lll bet he can get you just the DIC that you can put in your cluster so you don't have to have the mileage changed, etc. See this thread here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1329211
If you already have the cluster out or can get it out again, you can fix this for a lot less than the dealer will charge. PACETHIS does lots of HUD retrofits so he has alot of instrument clusters passing through his hands! Do you have a HUD? Good Luck
