Default changed the diff & tranny oil, but...

I only got less than 3.5 quarts in the transmission, but it was seeping out the fill hole and I didn't want to overfill it. Think it'll be okay?

Yes, make sure your trans is level when putting it in.. Further, if you saw the internals of a T56 it has different "compartments" so you'll never get 100% of the fluid out merely by opening the fill hole.

Same thing happened to me and the shifting was real hard to get in gear. So, I removed the fill plug and poured about 8 oz. in and replugged real quick before it could drain out. Works well now.

I don't know from your post whether you have an auto or a std. In my standard, I redid the tranny fluid and got only about 3 quarts in. I was apprehensive, but it was running out the fill hole as advertised, so I closed it up, put the car down and shifted a couple of times. It was smooth, so I drove it to a shop and had them check my work. It was full, with the car level. Took the car out for an HPDE that weekend, and it ran and shifted fine. I would bet you have no worries.

Sorry, my car is a Z06, so manual transmission. I took the car out afterwards and it seems to shift fine, so I'm assuming it's okay. If I sense any difficulties shifting in the near future I'll get under it again and take the fill plug out and add some. It could be that the car wasn't perfectly level when I did the change, but I think it was pretty close. Thanks for the replies!
