A4 torque management "poll"
1. Don't disable TM, you'll grenade the tranny.
2. Disable TM, it won't hurt the tranny and the car will be more fun.
3. Disable TM, it will grenade the tranny but it's worth it anyway.
4. Disable TM, because the 4L60E is going to die young anyway no matter if TM is on or not.

Go with Option #5....don't disable TM but have a reputable tuner reduce the amount of TM. Comlpetely disabling it takes the safety margin away from how much power is reduced during shifts. Pressure spikes and excessive torque now have free reign to wreak havoc on the tranny. The tuner for my cousin's C5 reduced the shift time down to around 0.3 seconds and removed 50% of TM. Car shifts nice and quick but no head-snapping, coffee cup spilling yankers.
Remember that slippage and heat buildup are your enemies with an A4. If you're going to reduce TM, raise shift pressure, and get on it alot invest in a tranny cooler. Since the stock tranny cooler is integrated into your radiator, a lower temp thermostat and fan temp adjustments will also help. Shift kits are also a great addition as they change actual physical components rather than just adding line pressure to quicken shifts. Hope this helps and maybe some more knowledgeable guys can provide further input...
