I have a 2000 manual vert with the memory, sport seats and telescoping steering wheel options. Last week, when I got back into the car, the memory function had quit working. The drivers seat has moved all of the way back and it will not move forward when I push the memory option or when I use the electric adjustment on the side of the seat. When the seat went back, the steering wheel also retracted and it too will not return to the normal position. I tried pushing the telescoping toggle towards the dash 6-8 times and then held it in the out opsition for 5 - 10 seconds and no luck. All other functions operate as they should.
I have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnected it after an hour, and still can't get no satisfaction...
When I push the memory 1 button, the light flashes several times or stays on for about 15 seconds.
There is no information in the owners manual on correcting this problem.
It seems like your seat wants to assume the "easy-out" position that can be selected by using your DIC. Also, out of frustration, you may have pushed your memory psoition too long and re-learned that full-back position of the seat and full-in position of the wheel. Try this:
1. Check for any communication codes by using the DIC and reset them. See other posts if you don't know what I'm referring to.
2. Start your car, reposition the seat, and select and hold memory 1 and set a different position for memory 2.
3. Turn vehicle off, reinsert key, go to the "blank" options page and hold reset for 3 seconds to get to the FOB learning page.
4. Press reset one more time to learn FOB #1 by following the DIC instructions and then for FOB #2 as directed.
5. Remove key and try both FOBs so the seat will reposition each time.
Good luck, if this doesn't help, maybe another member's wisdom will.
