Just a few weeks ago I had my driver's door lock repaired at a dealer. It was doing the normal C5 thing.(Wouldn't open/close with the FOB or with the door buttons. They replaced the circuit card under my extended warranty. ($200.00 deduct)
Now the passenger's door has started the doing the same. Doesn't the same card that they replaced control the right side door lock as well? Do I have a chance with the dealer to get them to repair the right side based on the replacement of the card without throwing down a $200 deduct again?
What do you all think?
Thanks in advance for your wisdom.
Sorry but each door has a separate door control module. The problem is a dirty or arced relay. Each door has 3 relays ( $2 each) but of course dealerships don't take modules apart and desolder and resolder in new relays.... Most dealers charge about $650 for the replacement...about $300 for the part, the balance in labor ,shop supplies and tax.
Maybe if your are lucky and they haven't file the extended warranty claim yet, they will include the second one on the same claim...
Or if your a DIYr try this thread, I just repaired mine for the same problem, $5.00 worth of relays from Digikey and $5.00 at the C.B.radio shop to have them soldered in. easy fix http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...327&forum_id=1
