The driver's side power window motor stopped going down on my 99 coupe. I bought a new motor from autozone. I tried changing it the other day. I removed the door panel. I took the 3 bolts that hold the motor in place out. But the motor is stuck to the cable.
The problem I am having is what about the cables that are stuck to the back of the motor? How do I take them off to get the motor out? There is a panel on the back of the old motor. How do I get it off?
I did a search for past posts on this subject. But I couldn't find anything on just removing the motor.

In the GM service manual they do not show the motor being replaceable as its own piece. The regulator must be replaced as a whole with the motor attached to it. In '03-'04 they do show a motor as a seperate piece, but not for your '98. There may be a way to do it, but GM doesn't show it. Maybe somebody who has done it before will chime in.
