Default sensor question

Is the sensor that is mounted on the driver side of the air bridge on 98 C5s the MAP sensor?
If so, will it affects it's operation to spice in about 1 1/2 ft of wire so I can relocate it? I have a Breathless high flow air bridge that I would have to drill to mount the sensor, and I'd rather mount it in the lid of my Vararam if possible

It is the Inlet Air Temperature sensor. You can extend the wiring, but I can't answer your Vararam question.

Default air temp sensor

When I installed my Halltec. The sensor location was moved from the stock location, which was up front down near the air filter cover, to the side of the air bridge. I think as long as it is upstream of the throttle body it performs the function it was designed for. I remember when I had my '87 c-4, they sold an aftermarket wire extention to relocate the sensor to a cooler spot to fool the computer and supposedly increasing the performance or something. So maybe down low in a cooler location would be better yet.

I remember seeing them for the C4s as well, and thought maybe it would work the same. The sensor would still see the same air, but it would no longer be sitting so close to the radiator and the hot air blown through by the fans. The real reason for relocating it is that I don't want to drill a hole in the new bridge.
I wasn't really sure if spicing the lines would affect the voltage readings in any way
