What are you trying to accomplish? looks, clean up the engine bay, performance? What will you be doing with the car? Street, strip, road racing? Makes a differance.
This product is touted to lower temps at lower RPMs and street driving. Thought to be good for drag applications. not so good for
Road racing applications.
They look great, perform well for the most part unless you are sitting at high revs for long periods of time like on the road track. I stuck with the stock pump when I had to replace mine as I want to track my car from time to time on a road course.
I have one and it has been quite reliable. But I would ask you this, what modifications have you made to your car? The reason I ask is that there are specific things you can do to to a C5 that will improve it's performance. Each modification will yeild a given amount of performance for X number of dollars. My approach has been to do what will give me the most performance improvement for the least cost per HP.
For an NA motor I think an elect water pump is one of the last mods to make. There are exceptions of course. For example if you are making a cam change its a good time to install an under drive pulley because of the labor cost involved.
There are other things you could do to achieve power gains that have a better cost/benefit ratio. The best modifications I ever made were a set of AFR 205 heads and a set of LG headers. I got them slightly used.
The point is focus on what will bring you the biggest gains for the least dollars. Once you have exhausted those options you can start deciding if you want to spend bigger dollars for smaller gains.
