Default Power Duct Installation

I bought a Powerduct and Power Coupler and when I took a look at the car with the Power Duct in my and I noticed that there wasn't a hole for the MAT Sensor.
What do I do about the MAT Sensor?
Is there another place to put it? None of the pictures in West Coasts Catalog show the power sensor in the ppowerduct.
I noticed after looking at the West Coast catalog, that there are two models of the Power Duct. One for the 97-2000, and another for the 2001. Other than the diameter, is there any other difference? Has the mat sensor been located in a different spot?

Lewis,
You will need to drill a 13/16" hole in the duct - I purchased one from West Coast Corvettes and had to drill one in the stock location. The rubber grommet and the intake sensor will fit snugly into the newly drilled hole. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I firgured that that was probably going to be the result of this, but wanted to be sure. I can't imagine why a piece of plastic that sells for this much doesn't have all the holes in it that it requires.

Vendors do not predrill the holes because some folks buy a recalibrated MAT sensor which they relocate from the stock drivers side rear of the duct to the passenger side front of the duct.

The hole for the relocated/recalibrated MAT sensor would be smaller than the one needed for stock.

Hope that helps.

Make sure that you measure the size of the required hole. I made the same mod and 13/16" seemed too big ... it was. I had to drill a 5/8" hole.

I called West Coast and he suggested a 11/16" hole.
I brought home a 5/8", 11/16", & a 13/16".
One of these should be about right. I'm going to measure the hole that the original had in it.

Thanks,

Lewis

Get a timing tricker. 20 bucks and you don't need the MAT sensor. It's a lot cleaner install.

Ok, what's a timing tricker? Who makes it and what does it do?
What do you do with the original mat sensor?

Thanks, (I'm still learning)
