My car is at the dealership to resolve a problem with the memory settings not working correctly. I talked to them today and they said the problem was corrected by a reflash (not sure how well it is going to work -- but that is a separate issue)
Is my custom tune gone? It is not a big deal, the car is going in for a H/C package in the next couple of weeks so it would going to need to be redone anyway.
At your Vette Doctors appointment they will re-program your computer.
I know (which is why I brought it in before the H/C package)..The ECS CC is this weekend and it would be nice to have my tune. I called the Vette Doctors and they are going to check to see if they still have my tune to reload.
It really isn't a big deal...The loss of tune will be worth it if they fixed my seat problems.

Thanks,

But if you reload the old tune, then memory seats goes bad again.

UPDATE: It doesn't seem to be a total loss. I picked the car up from the dealer and the altered fan settings and the shift speed/firmness are still in effect. Maybe I got lucky and they only did the BCM.

As I mentioned in your other thread, they SHOULD have just flashed the BCM since the PCM has nothing to do with the power seats or memory features. Glad to see that the dealer was smart enough to do just that.

In order to prevent dealers or other service staff from overwriting a custom tune, has anyone ever seen any kind of locking cover or cap that could be placed over the OBDII data port? (The down side would be that it'd be an obvious tipoff that the customer's car has been tuned.)

Just ask your tuner to keep a back up of the tune. The good tuners will keep them forever. Then if you get flashed, you can just go in and they will re-dump it. The real problem comes when the dealer upgrades you to a newer software version. Then you can not re-load the old tune anymore
