I have a ticking ( or tapping) sound that I only here at or around idle rpm. It does increase with rpm but cant hear it when above 2000 rpm( maybe the Indys are drowning it out). The car fires up instantly, runs smooth and the oil pressure perfect. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. I have never been to see Mr. Badwrench in the 2 years and I dont really want to now.
Thanks
Probably normal lifter and injector noise. You might want to get a long screw driver and hold the blade to the valve cover and the other to your ear.
Move it around and listen for an area louder than the rest. A quick cheap test.

I read a post a month or so ago from a guy with a LS1 TransAm and he said it was the injectors and that by removing an electrical connection you could hear it stop. research the post for details.
If you have oil pressure it probably not the lifters. I have a no oil pressure @ start up warning very often and it did damage the lifters once.
