Default Pulling out my Blown Engine and.....

I pulled one of my heads off to look at the piston that had Zero Compression. Yep, there was some piston missing that would explain that. I am wondering just how hard it is to pull the engine out myself through the top of the car. I have an engine hoist, but is there anything I might run into that will be a severe pain? If there was a shop in northern Ohio that would finish and swap out shortblocks for me that would be too easy. I havent found one around here that has experience in C5's. I am looking into 402's but My car in nicely dyno tuned for my Lingenfelter Heads/Cam/Intake/Injectors, ect ect...... If im going to go through all this work and $$$ is there a significant HP gain in a stroker? If i replace with a Forged 346 then I dont have to buy or get re-tuned. I do have LS1 Editing software, Could I cange some variables in my existing tune to compensate for the larger cubes without re'dyno tuning? I dyno'd at 538 RWHP with 50 Shot NOS. Feel free to leave me any opinions.

Check CajunDude's website - I believe he recently finished pulling his motor out the top, and I think he did a fairly detailed description of the process, complete w/ pictures.

If you want the work done by someone else, try contacting RoadRebel in Detroit. He's the tuner/Corvette modder most of us use around here.

ATI Performance Engineering primarily works on C5 Corvettes and would gladly quote on the project. We are located in Wixom, Michigan (west of Detroit, hour north of Toledo). If interested, please contact Rick Myers 248-848-9200 or rmyers@accuratetechnologies.com.

Going to a 402 stroker will add low-end torque (as well as more power) probably around 10-15%. If you leave all else alone, then the changes to the tune should be minimal or none, assuming you still run MAF.

I sent a e-mail to road Rebel, I cant find any contact info or a web page for his shop. I am near Cleveland so im under 3 hours from Detriot so that would work out nicely. I know there was a place called LS1 Source and they were 30 minutes from me. I called the numbers on the business card and none of them work. I will also try to contact ATI and see what they can do for me.
