The shifter has developed resistance when shifting from neutral to first when speed=0mph. Occasionally, it won't go into 1st at all, even if I force it a bit. But, if the car is rolling, the shifter will easily go into 1st.
I've had mine 6-speed for about a year. Since I've had it, it has occasionally popped out of 1st, if I only get it through one synchro. Not about to pull the tranny for a minor annoyance like this
Obviously, if you can't put it into 1st, you've got some decisions to make. Until then, I'd just deal with it. Changing the fluid may help.
check the fluid level and maybe even change it. If it continues, try letting the clutch out while in neutral, push in and then try shifting to first. If it slides in smoother, probably synchros.

Occasionally, this also allows it to slide into 1st.
- It sounds like the synchros. I think I'll try new trany fliud.
I had the very same problem on my 2K MN6. It would be hard to get into 1st and sometimes pop out of 1st on take off.
The problem turned out to be too much fluid.
I had the car up on jacks (level), removed the filler plug (not the drain plug) on the trans and had nearly 1/2 a quart come out.
No problems since.
Seems when I changed my tranny fluid, I did not account for the residual fluid left in the trans.
Remember. over filling can be just as bad as under filling.
