Default Door Control Module and Alarm System

After a nice weekend in the Texas hill country my drivers side control panel failed to operate. All functions ceased with the window in the open position. After the next startup I limped back home with the system throwing nearly every DIC warning in the book. After a lesson in code retrieval it seems the were several recent codes that I have since learned could been caused by the cascading communication effect of the original problem. I have cleared all the codes except HVAC U1160. It would not reset. The Left Side (LDCM) shows NO COMM. Since the left side control panel and the alarm system are inoperative am I wrong to assume that they are both related to the Door Control Module? I have researched a lot already on past forum threads and understand a lot of the possibilities. Since there are definite driver's side door issues I am going to check the door wiring harness connector before removing the panel to get to the DCM. Do any of you code gurus think my approach is wrong before I resort to taking it to the dealer? I'm open to all suggestions.

do a search on grounds, wiring & battery connections.
there is a good link in here with lots of pic on bad connections.
if I find it I will link it.
sounds like a bad connection or corrosion issue.

I had the same thing happen to me. It was the connector and I did not have to remove the door panel. If this is the case for you, it will only take 5-10 min to fix.

Did your security system also fail? Everything worked fine before this. Niether of my key remotes work...even with fresh batteries. The trunk lid also fails to release with the remote. These issues are what make me assume the system if linked to the control panel issue through the wiring harness.

Default New Post Title- Bigger Electrical Problem - Codes?

Well... I tried the door wiring connector in the the A pillar with no success. I didn't see any corrosion but I cleaned all of the pins anyway. I even checked the door speaker connection. No bueno! I pulled the battery, took it and had it tested and found it only had 130 cranking amps so I figured...Gotcha! I looked for corrosion damage before installing the new battery and saw no evidence of a previous leak. I cleared all codes except 99-HVAC U 1160HC. This one would not clear. I then started her up again and nothing worked with the driver's side control panel. Radio, guages, AC...all worked. I started it again to move to the other side of the garage to access the inner fuse box and lost everything again. All the gauges bottomed out and the DIC said "reduced engine power, sevice engine soon, service tire monitor system, shocks inoperative, door ajar" I mean the works. Traction control and ABS lights came on ...all of it. I checked the prevoiusly cleared system codes and found more codes than before! Here's what I found;

10 PCM - P1620H
28 TCS - U1301H
- U1016H
38 RTD - NO CODES
40 BCM - B2587H
- B2592H
- U1255H
- U1016H
- U1096H
60 IPC - U1255H
- U1016
- U1064H
- U1040H
80 RADIO - U1064H
- U1016H
- U1096H
99 HVAC - U1064H
- U1096H
- U1160H C
- U1255H
A0 LDCM - NO COMM
A1 RDCM - U1255H
- U1064H
- U1016H
- U1096H
A6 SCM - U1255H
- U1064H
- U1016H (Twice)
B0 RFA - U1255H
- U1096H
- U1064H
- U1016H (Twice)

All this from two starts! Needless to say my simple mind is fried. Does anyone who understands this know what's going on? I'm beginning to think I need to take it some where to have this checked. Any one know a good place in the Houston area for this type of work? Man I'm open!!

Well here's the latest. I double checked the LDCM connector in the A pillar area and found everything clean and in good shape. I made a point to "jiggle" the connector and wires while trying the door panel controls during the process...nothing. I checked the ground under the kick panel and found it clean and tight. I also checked the ground in the battery area...great there too. Passenger side controls function as they should. The alarm, lock system and trunk lid will not work from either key remote but the trunk will open using the panel button.
The best news is that after clearing all codes and letting it run for a while I got consistent codes on two seperate attempts;

99-HVAC U1160 H C
A0-LDCM NO COMM.
B0-RFA U1096H & U1064H

Three things have been constant during this whole process (1) attempts to communicate with the LDCM have failed throughout this whole ordeal. (2) A totally dead driver's side control panel...I mean ALL functions and (3) the inability of the key remotes to work at all. These factors lead me to believe the module is bad. BEFORE I replace the module I plan to remove the door panel to check for any loose connections or peeled wires in the door itself. If nothing there...I guess I will call Gene at Fred Beans again and order a new module for $176. As usual I am open to any thoughts or comments.

Fixed!!! I pulled the door cover and started wiggling wires as I worked the control buttons. Nothing! While I was there I figured I would pull inner connectors just in case. While holding the center connector on the LDCM I heard a "click" and felt it slip into place. Gotcha!!! I now had all functions with the buttons and the alarm system. I cleaned the connector and put it in place...being sure that it snapped in place. I then took a test run and ran a code check. No Codes!!! Now that I have the door cover off I might as well go ahead and paint the speaker cover that has a stain. Thanks to the forum and all the help and technical advice...it really helped.
