Anyone know how to align the hood left to right or right to left. If you look front to rear, the hood is about 1/4inchesfrom the drivers fender and about 1/8 of an inch fron the passenger fender. Are there any sideway adjustments for the hood. Pics would also be appreciated. VNVETT
I have not done it but, I would think that you need to loosen the bolt that hold the hood to the hing and slide it over.
I am going out in a few to change my clutch fluid again and I'll take a look at that area and see if that will work.
The Motor City guys gave me a good tip when I bought one of their hoods. They said to disconnect the struts from the hood to make it easier to align it. There is actually a lillt more play where the hinge bolts to the frame at the bottom.
Ok, I looked at the setup.
I would reccomend that you first look at the alignment of your hood at the very front edge to see if that is also out.
If it is then the best way to fix it is loosen the bolts that attach the hood hinge to the frame and then shift it over.
If the front edge is aligned perfect then you may have to move the fenders in order to get the hood side gaps correct. The problem is the fenders don't move quite as easily as the hood hinges.
Best of luck and let us know how it comes out.
Did what you guys said and that works. It is a new MCM hood with the Carbon Fiber bubble and it looks great. When the dealer installed it last week after painting they did a lousy job of aligning. The hood is a perfect fit. Thanks Mike at MCM and you guys on the forum. Also thanks to Mike in Texas when I got the Custom made Stripes for the MCM hood. They go on tomorrow and I will send Mike some photos that he can host on his website. I have bought several sets of stripes from him and he is by far the best and most helpful Stripe vendor I have come into contact with. Bob, VNVETT
