Default Help.... high voltage/low voltage on DIC

Have 03 15k miles with intermittent voltage messages on DIC. Seems to be when weather is hot..and car is warm. Gauges all die but car runs fine. New battery. Had alternator check..OK. Still having problems. Haven't been able to test system while problem is occuring. No codes. High voltage seems to occur the most. Stop engine and restart doesn't seem to reset things. All grounds check OK Any ideas? Could this be alternator with short for high heat? I am goin nutz. Thanks in advance.

If you have the ignition ON without the engine running, does the voltmeter on the instrument cluster indicate the correct voltage (same as battery voltage)?

No sometimes it reads high or low mostly high. DIC say high voltage and gauges die. Even when it reads low 5 to 6 volts the car will start fine. No other problems or messages or codes.

No sometimes low and gauges die sometime high and gauges die. No other issues. No codes. Car will start and run fine regardless of messages just no gauges.

Interesting. Are you saying that the voltmeter reads higher than 12 volts or so with the ignition switch ON and the engine NOT running?

Yes it does...sometimes. Pegs the volt gauge and all gauges die with ignition on engine off
