LS2 Water Pump
Hi,
I have been told that a LS2 Water pump will fit a LS1. My water pump is starting to leak slightly and am thinking about putting on an LS2 pump. I understand they weigh about 3 lbs less also. Does anyone have experience with this? I appreciate any input I can get. Thanks.

We have installed quite a few of the LS2 waterpumps on LS1 motors. There are a few differences. The pulley is shorter and the t-stat has been changed. Other than that it bolts right up.

My belt is pretty tight now, so maybe the most I will need may be a new belt. I did add a 180 T-stat, so I guess I will not be able to use it in the new LS2 pump.
Are there any other advantages to going with LS2 water pump other than weight reduction, such as flow? Thanks for your help.
