Default LS2 TB Driveability issues?

Ok got my car going now! After being down 3+ months!

Installed 90/90 Fast/ls2 Throttle Body, and had the car professionally tuned, now it wants to die when the clutch is disengaged, any tuning tips will be greatly appreciated!! It idles fine, revs up fine, but when coming to a stop, it wants to die

HELP!

I wish people would stop saying "Professional tune" just because they paid someone to tune their car. I could be mistakin, but it doesn't sound like your car is fully tuned.

Mark, believe me when I say professionally tuned by one of the best IMHO, Scott Culbert AKA Gomer tuned it last evening, it is right, do you have this combo?

BTW.....this is a baseline tune just to break-in the new engine. Just wanted some feedback from others on the forum that may have a tip with this combo! GOMER and I will work through it together, when I GET the tune finished on the dyno (after break-in) I will post the fix for others that may encounter the same driveability prob!

If the tables are setup correctly it should not do that. Idle tuning on a C5 and camaro are two different animals. Once you have the correct values in the tables it runs like a champ.

PHIL, I was thinking of doing the drill mod to the TB blade, any comments?

Did he need to drill the blade?

I've got custom tables that I have been working the last year or so on and tweaking. Many hours of R & D went into developing them and after the change the idle usually clears right up.

I have the same FAST 90/LS-2 setup with head/cam and no problems. Sure sounds like a tune issue. Good Luck!

Well, GOMER has done the initial tune, just to get it running and get some miles on the new engine....

Cool, how can I get some more info? I am curious what is he biggest cam specs that you have has positive luck with short of drilling the blade?

Seems to me this could have some effect, plus I am SD on the tune!

Any other pointers? thanks a million!

Yeah my buddys LS1 T/A was "Pro Tuned" 4 times now. He added a full list of mods, exhaust, cam, fast intake, etc, etc. First dyno was 325 hp ( thats near stock ) 2 months later got re-tuned 385 hp, 4th time back to the shop 415.... where it should of been all along.

I've never heard of him. I'm not going to drop names, but I do know some of the best tuners you'll find.

I don't personally run the Fast/LS2 combo right now, although I do know several people who and aren't having the issue you described.

Hopefully your tuner gets everything sorted out.

Good question, I can find out. I always forget the name. It was in Baltimore Maryland at a local Vette/F-Body place. I was going to type more and Id love to expose this but they recently dropped by buddy's 2002 SS camaro off the lift...... they have had the car since december and he has not had it back yet... It was getting a 12bolt rear with 4:10's and suspension package to hold it all together, 408 bored motor heads, cam, dumps. should make close to 600hp with n20 when done. I think they really messed the car up. I know when i get my Z06 (hopefulyl soon) it will never enter their hands. All my buddys stopped using them. The SS is the last car that will be and maybe be forcefully leaving from their location.

And I just found out who did their work.

*F Body Central in Baltimore Maryland is the name of the "tuner" shop. I have heard good things, but for the past few months, ok since december no good news. My buddy has had His T/A tuned and it still runs dumbly one day, and the next great... runs rich and dumps more black smoke when he lays into it than a diesel. A few other guys had sold their cars and openly say they wont be back. Everyone can form his or her own opinion but I know my Z06 isn't going there.

I don't have your intake system, however when tuning idle speeds, there are four columns, the first two are in gear, A/C on, A/C off, the last two columns are neutral/park same A/C headings. Idle speeds have to be set in all four columns, if you miss the neutral/park column, the idle speed will go back to the pre tune idle speed when you push the clutch in as in rolling to a stop. This is how it is in EFI Flashscan, I don't know what your tuner uses.

Hope this helps, Curt
