A chirping under the hood that can only be heard while driving. The faster I go the more chirping/squeaking I hear, but when I try to diagnose it while its idling I can't hear it. It's driving me crazy. It seems to chirp/squeak more on rough pavement when the car is vibrating more.
I've done extensive searching on this forum but can't find anyone whose belts/pulleys only squeaked while driving. I did notice my crank pulley very slightly wobbling, but I think its a normal amount and I'm not convinced thats the problem. Idler pulley maybe? Tensioner? Has anyone else experienced this?
A/C belt huh? Any way to verify this before I take it into the shop? Why would the A/C belt be more prone to chirping while driving, but not at idle, than the drive belt (or whatever the front belt is called)

I would definitely relieve the tension on the belt and check that crank pulley! It really should not be noticeably wobbly. If that's o.k. than try a small shot of a wd-40 type product. If that quiets it down you might just need a new belt. How many miles on it? Good luck!!

25k miles on the belts. I'm afraid to mess with the crank pulley myself for fear I may screw it up much worse than it already is. I'll try the WD-40 on the A/C belt and see if it still squeaks on my way to work tomorrow.
Lubed up the A/C belt the best I could this morning but she chirped like crazy all the way to work, and silent as ever at idle. Could it be a tensioner arm bouncing more when the car is vibrating at speed?
