I just finished lowering my '00 Coupe using the breathless performance lowering kit. I dropped the front as far as it would go. Before I dropped the rear, I forgot to measure. I ran up to the local dealer and snooped around some of his C5's with a tape measure, and it looks like I went down about an inch in the rear, but I'm not sure. I have no idea how far the front went down. Now my question is, since I never took any stock measurements, and the breathless kit gives the rear a ton of adjustment, where should I measure, and what are good numbers. I want to make sure I haven't dropped the rear too much. I've had my car as fast as 160, and I want to make sure all the downforce is where it should be. Don't ask me why we didn't take stock measurements, all I can say is that there was some beer and way too much BSing before the job was started.
Its too low when you start grinding on the ground when you drive it (or when you can't get over speed bumps). If it doesn't hit anything, maybe its not low enough yet!
I can just barely put two fingers between my tire and the wheel well in the front and in the back. That's as far as I could get it down with the F45 suspension. It's much stiffer, but it's never bottomed out driving around town and hasn't scraped much at all...(partly because I try to be careful)
I've also had it up to a little over 130 since it's been down this far and it was completely fine. Although considering the lack of clearance it's got now, I can't really see how it would be drivable if it sat any lower :yesnod:
