Default A/C Mold Eliminating Foam...

Just pulled the Vette out from winter storage... and my A/C smells. The Chevy delaer told me it is due to mold and fungus that has grwon in the A/C system. The Chevy dealer sells a foam they insert into the system that supposedly removes the smell and kills the mold... for $140+. Anyone know what this is... what it costs... and how difficult installtion is? I want to remove the smell... but not for $140. Thinking of a DYI projet.... any thoughts?

Cheers,
Dennis

Default Alternatives to Lysol

The poster above recommended Lysol which seems a good idea, but here are some alternatives that are specifically made for this problem. Note I've used a Bosch product that was similar to below and worked well but I could not find it in a quick search.

BG Frigi-Fresh Part No. 708
BG Frigi-Fresh is formulated to quickly and effectively remove foul, musty odors from automobile air conditioning systems. It kills mold, mildew and other odor-producing organisms that grow in the evaporator core and housing. Powerful deodorizers in BG Frigi-Fresh keeps the automobile interior smelling fresh and clean. EPA Reg. No. 44446-20-67145.

BG Frigi-Clean Part No. 709
Odors, bacteria, mold, spores, fungi, road grime, nicotine oils and debris accumulate in your car's air conditioning evaporator. BG Frigi-Clean restores heating/cooling efficiency and freshens interior air. It is a unique cleaning solution designed to quickly and effectively remove foul odors, bacteria, mold, spores, fungi, road grime, nicotine oils and debris that accumulate in your evaporator. BG Frigi-Clean in injected directly into the evaporator case through a patented nozzle. It foams up to completely fill the evaporator core where it also blasts away bug parts, pet hair, nicotine residue and other garbage. BG Frigi-Clean is bio-degradable, non-toxic, non-corrosive.

Thanks for the BG products lead. This is what my local Chevy dealer wanted $139 to put in my car. Know any way I can buy the product and do the work myself? Went to the website and it is primarily geared for distributors... not retail product sales.

I do not believe their products are sold to the public, only dealerships and authorized repair shops are able to purchase the products
