I would think that given enough money, anything is possible...not practical, but possible.
I was in Florida in Feb. 1979. A local Chevy dealer had a '78 Indy Pace Car in his showroom. It had been made into a convertible by a local, "high-end" Corvette restoration shop. Beautiful job, but $$$.
I like the fixed roof coupe better, but I can't sell my car because I think I'd take a pretty big hit and on top of that I did a carfax report lastnight and found out it was wrecked twice.

Actually if you had the parts it would be fairly easy to convert. All that you would need is the tub top, fenders, deck lid, top, and the rear parts of the interior panels. It would not be cheap if you bought new parts!
I'm with you on the FRC look, but if you think your going to take a hit selling your car, converting your car would be a big mistake, will kill your resale and add the costs to mod on top of that.
it can't be much harder than taking my 95 formula and turning it into an an 02 Trans am... They are all on the same frame therefore somewhere there are gonna be common links.. I think the easiest thing to do would be find a wrecked out one that the rear intake along with the roof.. from there it's pretty much cut and paste
The money you'd lose on the sale would probably be less than the cost of changing the top.... Then go out and buy yourself an FRC that you want...... Just do the CarFax BEFORE you buy your next Vette...
Your right about the carfax it was my first vette so I got excited and jump the gun but don't get me wrong the car is flawless and it would be impossiable to tell by appearance and the ride I just should have done some more homework.
