Default 2001 Z06 cluster install in 2000 vert

I recently purchased a 2001 Z06 instrument cluster for my 2000 vert. When installing the unit I took the 11 pin harness from my stock cluster and used it on the Z06 cluster to power the HUD. Everything works fine with the exception of the black lights on the side that illuminates the gauges. They work fine on the stock unit but will not function on the Z06 unit. I have even removed the power inverter from the functioning stock cluster and installed it on the Z06 unit with the same result. I am at a loss as to what is going on. Has anyone else had this issue?

If the Z06 cluster was laid on its side or straight up or down for an extended period of time, you may have damaged the black lights. It's not practical, but if you got another cluster(that hasnt been moved around) you can check with that, good luck!

I will try removing the lights from the good cluster and installing them in the "bad". I hope it is fairly straight forward. Thanks for the help!

Not yet but I will. I think forum member PACE THIS does the mileage reprogram. I just need to send it off. The cluster looks awesome with the alumimum bezels!!

you misread, you can remove the mileage display from the 2k cluster and swap it w/ the z06 cluster

I did misread. I did not know that was possible. Is there a thread with instructions on how to do that?
