I have a new 4L65E tranny and a Vig 3200 converter, question is this: In gear with foot on the brake it feels like something rotating is either not in line or is almost like rattling. Maybe from the tranny rear end area. Did not notice this with stock tranny and converter. Any ideas?. I thought about the exhaust maybe hitting somewhere but any thoughts?.
Who did the install? Are they close to you? If so, take it back and have them look at it. This does not sound right. You should see/feel/hear no difference other than the converter feeling a little loose when leaving a light at low speed. Also, did you have the PCM retuned to account for the additional slippage of the converter?
I did have the car retuned with HP tuners. The shop is local and well know. Does alot of ls1 trannies. Feels fine when driving just not when in gear at idle.
I have a YANK SS3600 and my car is fine at idle. You may want to take it to the place that installed it and ask them about the roughness or issue you are having to be sure. Would hate to see something burn up or go wrong with all the money you just spent.
