Default Difference between 97-99 and 00-04 exhaust

I am wondering what the difference between the stock exhaust is between these year groups. I was looking at the x-pipe cat combo on the random technologies website and they list two different part numbers for the different groups. Does anyone know why?

The older cars have pre-cats (pupcats) If I remember correctly.

Someone set me straight if I'm wrong... I believe you have two items which make the earlier and later years different. The later Vette's have cast iron manifolds and pup-cats. My '01 has both, also and this is just a trim item but, the later Vette's have the chrome tips on the back.
