i was putting some things in the glovebox while still in the garage. thereby i pushed the plastic cover with the tcs switch a little forward. after starting the enging, idling was very rough and the ipc told me: "reduced engine power, check traction control!" (or similar, my ics speaks german to me... ;-)). i switched the engine off again, and moved the plastic cover with the tcs swich again. engine started, running fine again, but the "check engine" light is on and it stays on. i checked the ipc codes and they told me:
P1516 H Command vs Actual Throttle Position performance (TAC Module) -A
C1278 TCS Temporarily Inhibited by PCM
i think, this was caused by the "moving action" of the tcs switch, but will the "check engine light go out if i erase these dtc's??
any help is welcome, german corvette dealers usually charge you $100 bucks, just alone for opening their gate....
Pressing reset while seeing the code will clear that message. It will also clear the check engine light. If it comes back on then you know it wasn't a fluke.
