Default LS6 intake. What size throttle body?

I am going to install an LS6 intake on my car and am curious to know what size the intake is (85mm/90mm) and what size throttle body should I replace the stock one with?
If the intake size is 85mm, would a 90mm throttle body do any harm?

Thanks in advance,
David

The LS1 and LS6 intakes use the same throttle body.

It takes the stock 4 bolt 75 mmTB. You can go to a billet 80 mm but thats it. The manifolds intake opening can't be ported to any significant amount.

I have the 78 mm Callaway TB on the LS6 intake. A less expensive option is to have your stock TB ported.

Hope this helps.

Sorry just realized my mistake. The stock TB is a 3 bolt installation, not 4.

Thanks for the quick reply..
Is there any sense, from a performance standpoint, to put on an 85mm/90mm TB or should I stick with a 78/80mm TB..? I may have access to a 90mm BBK TB and wonder if it's worth the money..

Thanks!

You will have to go with an aftermarket intake manifold, for n/a applications the FAST LSX 90 is prlly the best. Yes, you would see some gains even on a stock heads/cam engine, more so with the LS6 top end.

This setup really works with a H/C package and LT headers. There's additional power available by porting the intake to the head ports, the FAST is designed to be ported.

Check out this link. You can compare the stock LS6/75 mm to the FAST 90/90.

Hope this helps, Enjoy.

Hrdtop,

Thanks for the info..
I currently have LT headers/cam/etc. etc. and am having aftermarket heads put on. I will go with the LS6 manifold and either a 78mm or a BBK80 Tb..

Thanks again,
David
