Default Vortex Ram Air system

The '98 I bought has the Vortex unit on it and the filter is filthy. How do I clean it? I don't get a useful return when I Google Vortex Ram Air about cleaning/reoiling or replacing the filter.

How do I clean it, what type of oil do I put on it and how much?

Charlie

Go to parts store and ask for a K&N filter cleaning kit. I wash mine in warm water and dish soap, let air filter dry and spray on even amount of filter oil.

Default Clean Filter

I had the same problem, bought the car used and could not figure out how to change/clean the filter. Contacted Breathless Performance and received this reply:

Loosen the clamp and pull it from underneath. We sell the filters here for
replacement. They are cleanable with the correct cleaning solution.

Decided to purchase a spare filter and a cleaning kit from Breathless. Total cost with shipping 91.00. By the way, at 14K my filter was filthy.
Good Luck
